Julia Wittner, M.A.
Julia has more than 23 years of experience as a researcher, writer, and editor, with a focus on health and healthcare. She develops print- and Web-based products for diverse audiences that are clear, engaging, and culturally and linguistically appropriate. She is adept at translating complex information into plain language. Julia earned a B.A. in English and American literature from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts, and an M.A. in magazine writing and editing from Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York.

Gilberto Velazquez, B.A.
Gilberto has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare communications and health literacy design. He is a principal of GV CERV Communications, Inc., and a member of Center for Plain Language; Marketing Communications and Education Professionals; Jersey Shore Tech Group; New Jersey WordPress Users Group; and American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers. He has published articles about the principles of design and health literacy. Gilberto earned a B.A. in Graphic Design, Marketing, and Photography from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.

Jann Keenan, Ed.S.
Jann has more than 25 years of experience writing, designing, and creating health initiatives and social marketing campaigns for government agencies, organizations, and businesses. She’s a founding member of Maryland Health Literacy for All and the Clear Language Group, as well as a strategic partner of the Institute for Healthcare Advancement. Her articles on health literacy have appeared in American Family Physician, Pharmaceutical Executive, and Correct Care magazines. Jann holds a B.S. in telecommunications and English, an M.S. in instructional design, and an Ed.S. in instructional systems technology from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
